Be honest and tell the truth is the best solution. Don't ever keep in your heart that something you need to tell to. Whether been accepted or otherwise, at least you try and the rest just tawakkal.

He has a thought that Allah has gave him a brilliant brain but in return Allah has to put in a emotional defect on him because Allah is fair.
